McCain READY ON DAY ONE

Wow much has happened since I last wrote in 2006, and we are still talking about McCain. After being 'politically dead' in the summer of 2007, John was able to prove MAC IS BACK on his huge wins on February 5th. Today as he has secured the Republican nomination, he has the luxury of time.

Time is something everyone wishes they had. Time to raise money, travel around the world, campaign anywhere not just the next primary state, pick up endorsements, come up with a strategic plan, etc.

McCain has been doing just this for the last month. But I think it is what he has done this past week that has been most beneficial for his candidacy. On Monday, instead of walking in a St. Patrick's Day parade, Senator McCain was in Iraq with Senators Lieberman and Graham. He was able to meet with Prime Minister Maliki, General David Patraeus, and numerous other officials in the area.

McCain not only spring breaked in Iraq, but he traveled to Jordan to meet with King Abdullah, Israel to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, President Shimon Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, and Likud Party Leader Benyamin Netanyahu, Britain to meet with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and France to meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy. This not only looks more presidential than parades, but I am personally comforted by knowing my Senator is working. He is going to the tough places to learn the facts he needs to know to make the tough decisions.

This is exactly what McCain needs to do to prove he has the experience. He needs to meet with foreign officials and military commanders and show he has a relationship already built with nations around the world and these are relationships are built on respect and trust. John McCain won't have to create these relationships when he takes office in 2009, but he has these relationships already established. He is already apart of the solution. HE IS READY ON DAY ONE!

President McCain...what a nice ring

In a time after the country voted anti-republican, no other potential Presidential Candidate has the support that Senator John McCain does. Sure Senator Clinton and Obama are receiving a lot of attention these days, particularly Barack who is reaching celebrity status. But all their fame will run dry when the issues that will impact this election come out. People view Hillary as not moderate enough and Barack votes with his party 95% of the time he certainly isn't a moderate. This election will be the battle of the moderate voters and the candidate that speaks to them is Senator McCain. He has been criticized in the past for his liberal views and his stance against the Bush Administration, but the truth is he is a conservative that knows how to work with liberals.
Yesterday I wrote in another blog about Senator Obama how he has America wrapped around his fingers and how stimulating and exhilerating he is, but soon this excitement will relax and the issues will come out. It will be at this time that McCain will shine and make America remember that he is popular for his work: Being a great senator.
Senator McCain will be the candidate that will be able to use his Military prestige and his political integrity to unite this country once again. He will be able to use his straight-talk methods to gain support from American on the polarizing issues. Today other candidates will get the media's attention, but when the issues come out, the top contender will undoubtingly be Arizona’s Senior Senator John McCain.
